Kavach Janani
Kavach Janani Objectives
Our unique ‘ Kavach Janani kit’ is gifted to these women so they can avail basic nutrition, health and hygiene they need in their journey in motherhood. Community and corporate support will help to stop this devastating cycle of malnutrition and illness.
We identify vulnerable communities of women in child bearing age among rural and adivaasi areas .
Break the cycle of malnutrition, high mortality and make safe pregnancy and safe delivery a reality for the underprivileged Adivasi women of this region
At present we are working closely with the local health canters and serve over 500 pregnant and new mothers.
Why Anemia and malnutrition Free Zones are needed?
- Malnutrition cannot be solved merely by food aid, it requires sustainable sources of nutrition for women when they need it most, in pregnancy and first three months of after the baby is born.
- When we empowered women with information and resources to end their own hunger, we can end the cycle of malnutrition. Malnutrition is a key factor that contributes to nearly half of all child deaths globally.
The Vajreshwari Project
With a dream and focus to uplift one community at a time, we’ve adopted the Vajreshwari Tribal District on the outskirts pf Mumbai.
Through Kavach Janini, we have also reached out to many new mothers and have guided them on health, sanitation, and hygiene.
We hope to adopt more districts in the future.
